I can hear the whip cracking in the background, urging me to work harder as the end of the semester nears. Why is it when a new semester begins I have so much motivation, but towards the end when I should have an abundance of motivation... I have none?

With everyone I have spoken to, I receive the same response. A sluggish expression of a word or sound that shows completely how they feel and how I feel - like slacking.

Yet, none of us give up as we push ourselves towards the end, only to have it start again in the next semester. Whoopee!

Have you ever heard those professional stories of how people found their life jobs? Many of them say they just "fell into it" by opportunity. I don't know how they do it, but I haven't found anything to "fall into." I'm left here flailing as I try to figure out what I want to do with life, certain sometimes yet very uncertain at other times. Switching from sciences, to psychology, to kinesiology, to english literature with a kinesiology minor, to now what I think I will stick with to the end... an english literature major with a teaching ESL certificate. Who knows, maybe I'll never "fall in."

It seems as though Hot Pot has something against me. For those who don't know what hot pot is, it is a pot full of broth (sometimes of your choosing) which you cook vegetables and meat in atop of a portable stove (usually). At hot pot, you get a little sheet much alike one you get at All You Can Eat sushi to order what and how much vegetables and meat you want to eat. Sometimes you can even get an egg! I could live on eggs they are so good.

Last year when a group of us attempted to go to eat hot pot, the place we had planned on going was closed. This year, the place we planned on going to was open but could only seat 4 people per table! I think we have horrible luck. Then we went to the place that we ended up going to last time... and it was closed for renovation. So finally we found a place called Posh in Burnaby, B.C. and really enjoyed it! I think one of my favorite parts of that place is that they have a drink called Bottomless Pop which you can order drinks such as Passion Fruit + 7Up, Mango + 7Up, etc. and switch flavors with each refill (unlimited yay!).

Overall it was a great experience. Hot Pot really brings people together and it's fun going with a whole group for a reasonable price.
